Turkish women wielding mustaches! Also a petition to stop the men with silly mustaches. Am I done with this silliness? No, by God I’m not! Meet the Handlebar Club out of UK where the qualifications for membership is as follows “a hirsute appendage of the upper lip, with graspable extremities”. Sorry mate, no beards allowed.
I nearly choked to death when I read this comment at the Daily Cartoonist today. I’ll give you a link to the post. Don’t go there if you don’t want to see the cartoon the discussion was about, it is very visceral and will get a rise out of you. Just remember that I gave the option to look or not to look.
So anyhow, I was scrolling through the comment thread and came across this little jewel.
Phil, you make Carl look like an intellectual colossus. If your collective grasp of the issue was rubber, you wouldn’t have enough to make a condom for a spider.
Our little town has (almost) finished their downtown renovation. The sidewalks are pretty with plants, trees, plants, benches and old timey looking street lights. It’s all very nice, but all that nicety ends where downtown ends. The sidewalks there aren’t very good if they exist at all. I just wish our town would be more walker friendly. Put a sidewalk down the main drag, it would be safer for pedestrians and drivers. We’re going to walk it anyway, why not make it safer?
That show is a train wreck! After two male burlesque attempts and a woman smashing things with her HUGE GIGANTIC TITS the cloggers were a refreshing change of pace.
Unbelievable, well until you realize that fear has been the mode of operations for our government since that awful day in 2001.

“Suspicious activity” is broadly defined in TLO training as behavior that could lead to terrorism: taking photos of no apparent aesthetic value, making measurements or notes, espousing extremist beliefs or conversing in code, according to a draft Department of Justice/Major Cities Chiefs Association document.”
So basically these judgments are left up to the discretion of a wide range of people who will all have different ideas of “suspicious behavior”. “Apparent aesthetic value” could be anything since aesthetic value is pretty subjective. A student of architecture or engineering could be making measurements and run foul of the law. What are considered “extreme beliefs”? That could mean anything and could even encompass Christianity if one was to sit and think on it for a minute. How would you know if a person was talking in code or a different language? I realize that these measures are being taken to make us feel safer, but I seriously doubt that they are actually making us safer. Instead it has made the people of the USA a bunch of Chicken Littles waiting for the sky to fall.
I have never been the same since I saw a Monty Python sketch. It was a British invasion of another kind. I could have put something up about the Holy Grail, but I chose this sketch because it still slays me.
I’m pretty disappointed about Obama’s stance on FISA. So far it seems like more of the same old corporate coddling game playing. What exactly was he going to change? His pants?
No really apparently he was back in 1994 for his contributions to British and Zimbabwean relations. It took 12 years of his wreaking havoc to have it revoked. Well, let’s not be hasty or anything.
It’s in everything we consume in the guise of high fructose corn syrup and it’s grains feed our meat. It also feeds milk and eggs. It feeds our pets and it’s used in whiskey and beer. Now it feeds our cars. Is that smart? Using food for fuel? Well, looky here at this chart (your Ross Perot moment of the day)
This is the best thing ever (besides my niece of course). Just love these people and am really really glad that it came out alright. She is a lovely little baby. All the weirdness and nastiness of this week was pushed aside by her arrival. Welcome to planet Earth baby Anna, I hope we can make it a better place for you.
